All of the professional learning partners featured in the Guide undergo a thorough review process by a team of expert reviewers from across the country.

What are these phases?
These phases refer to the distinct areas of support (adoption, launch, ongoing for teachers, ongoing for leaders) that PL partners provide to schools and school systems to support curriculum adoption and implementation.
Adoption: Services to help educators review and purchase a new curriculum.
Launch: Initial training for teachers and school leaders after they purchase a new curriculum on how to use it to support student learning.
Ongoing for teachers: Ongoing support and coaching for teachers focused on effective use of their curriculum.
System design and leadership support: Supports school system leaders with the enabling conditions and resources required for a successful implementation of the HQIM.

Rivet defines HQIM in ELA, Math, and Science as those rated ‘Meets Expectations’ on EdReports in all grade levels for their grade band (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12).
If your curriculum is not listed, then it does not meet these criteria or has not been reviewed to date.

As a partner who exclusively supports the adoption phase of curriculum, Rivet does not evaluate their expertise in any particular high-quality instructional materials.

What does this certification mean?
EL Education has partnered with select professional learning providers through a philanthropically-funded pilot certification program designed to build knowledge around the content, structure, and intent of the EL Education K-5 Language Arts curriculum. In the final phase of the program, participants from each partner organization demonstrated expertise in facilitating curriculum-aligned professional learning in a real-world context.
Illustrative Mathematics: Professional Learning certified by Illustrative Mathematics is delivered through our IM Certified Facilitators, who undergo a rigorous qualification and training process to gain mastery in delivering impactful professional learning experiences based on the author’s intent. IM Certified Facilitators deliver learning educators need, in a variety of formats, including onsite academies and live virtual classrooms.
Open Up Resources (OUR) vets professional learning partners to guarantee OUR customers receive the highest quality professional learning. The vetting process includes a comprehensive certification process that ensures professional learning providers are OUR curricula experts with the experience necessary to provide professional learning that leads to efficacious implementation of OUR curricula.

What are these sample scopes of work?
Each provider in the PLPG provides a sample scope of work for each type of professional learning they are approved for. The scopes of work represent engagements with actual clients and are intended to give users a better understanding of how the provider engages with teachers and leaders in each type of professional learning.

Why is this important?
High-quality professional learning supports teachers in effectively engaging all students in rigorous tasks, including students with unfinished learning, students learning English, and students with special needs.
Implicit racism plays a major role in perpetuating achievement gaps in classrooms across the country. Rivet is committed to dismantling racism by connecting educators with professional learning partners who confront implicit racism through culturally responsive services that support teachers in providing high quality instruction to all students every day.

High-quality professional learning may be delivered in a variety of structures, depending on content, audience, or type of session. Rivet has defined four types of professional learning structures that enable the delivery of HQPL: workshops, coaching, collaboration/PLCs, and consultation.
