About the Professional Learning Partner Guide

We evaluate and recommend high-quality, professional learning partners who provide curriculum-aligned services to schools and districts.

Professional Learning Partner Guide

The Professional Learning Partner Guide (PLPG) provides school systems with a searchable database of national and local professional learning providers that have the expertise to support the adoption and implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).

The purpose of the PLPG is two-fold:

  • Grow school district demand for high-quality professional learning by building educators’ understanding of what it takes to deliver clear and effective instruction to teachers and pointing them to partners equipped to do so.
  • Improve the quality of the professional learning marketplace by highlighting and fostering strong professional learning providers and by signaling to preexisting partners what constitutes high-quality professional learning.

Rivet Education is committed to ensuring that the PLPG and the organizations we highlight within it are best-in-class and reflect the level of quality students and teachers deserve. Any and all professional learning organizations who specialize in providing HQIM-specific support are invited to apply to be included in the PLPG. This includes local, regional (e.g. regional service centers), and national providers.

The Application Process

Professional learning organizations must pass three gateways to qualify to be profiled in the PLPG. Specifically, PL services must demonstrate:

  • expertise in and explicit connection to HQIM (Gateway 1).
  • quality design and approach (Gateway 2).
  • a clear process for measuring results and using data to drive improvement (Gateway 3).

Each application undergoes a thorough review process by a trained team of educators from across the country. Using Rivet Education’s Scoring and Evidence Guide, reviewers assess whether professional learning partners provide significant evidence of robust, HQIM-aligned services across the following phases: adoption, launch, ongoing support for teachers, and systems design and leadership support.

Next Review Cycle:

  •  Gateway 1 applications due: September 29, 2023
  •  Gateways 2 & 3 applications due: December 15, 2023
  •  Profiles due: February 29, 2024
  •  New providers added to the PLPG: February 2024
