Two years ago, we set out to solve an important problem in K–12 Education: a growing number of high-quality professional learning providers had emerged, each well-suited to the challenges of supporting districts with curriculum selection, implementation, and/or long-term success… yet no one knew that most of them existed. Also, there was certainly no way to explore and compare their services.
Our Professional Learning Partner Guide was the answer: a tool designed to help curriculum, instruction, and professional learning leaders find the best partners for curriculum-based, engaging, job-embedded professional learning at every stage of the implementation journey. It was hailed by district leaders for solving an “urgent problem.”
Today, we are delighted to announce updates to the Professional Learning Partner Guide, driven by feedback from educators nationwide!
Key changes include:
Easy-to-digest partner profiles: We provide a lot of detail on each professional learning partner, from their specializations to their pricing. We’ve reorganized providers’ profiles to make them easier to skim and access the most valuable info to make an informed professional learning decision.
More detail on professional learning structures: Professional learning can and should take many forms. We now provide information on the professional learning structures utilized by each provider: workshops, PLCs/collaboration, coaching, and consultation.
More context on the professional learning journey: We know there is a continued learning arc for curriculum-based professional learning. We have added sample scopes of work to the profiles to provide more detail on where and how providers can support educators in the journey. The scopes of work include information on how the professional learning builds upon previous learning or sets the stage for continued learning, costs, audience, client type, and format to give users a better sense of what to expect from a partnership with each provider.
Additional Partners: We’ve welcomed six new partners to the PLPG family, bringing the total number of providers featured in the tool to 48.
The best thing we learned while gathering feedback on our Professional Learning Partner Guide over the past year is that educators really like it! Here is what we heard in focus groups:
Focus groups also reinforced something we already knew as a new organization: not enough educators have heard about the PLPG! We would appreciate your help changing that.
