All of the professional learning partners featured in the Guide undergo a thorough review process by a team of expert reviewers from across the country.

Who we are
There is no such thing as a typical learner. Our mission is to end the long-standing pattern of disproportionate student outcomes by shifting the paradigm of “typical teaching.” We work in partnership with schools and systems to elevate the mindsets and skills of educators to ensure that all students – especially those who have been most marginalized by race, language, and neurodivergence – can access and engage in grade-level learning. Adoption: Services to help educators review and purchase a new curriculum.

Initial Implementation: Initial training for teachers and school leaders after they purchase a new curriculum on how to use it to support student learning.

Ongoing support for teachers: Ongoing support and coaching for teachers focused on effective use of their curriculum.

Ongoing support for leaders: Supports school system leaders with the enabling conditions and resources required for a successful implementation of the HQIM.

What does this certification mean?

EL Education has partnered with select professional learning providers through a philanthropically-funded pilot certification program designed to build knowledge around the content, structure, and intent of the EL Education K-5 Language Arts curriculum. In the final phase of the program, participants from each partner organization demonstrated expertise in facilitating curriculum-aligned professional learning in a real-world context.

Illustrative Mathematics: Professional Learning certified by Illustrative Mathematics is delivered through our IM Certified Facilitators, who undergo a rigorous qualification and training process to gain mastery in delivering impactful professional learning experiences based on the author’s intent. IM Certified Facilitators deliver learning educators need, in a variety of formats, including onsite academies and live virtual classrooms.

Open Up Resources (OUR) vets professional learning partners to guarantee OUR customers receive the highest quality professional learning. The vetting process includes a comprehensive certification process that ensures professional learning providers are OUR curricula experts with the experience necessary to provide professional learning that leads to efficacious implementation of OUR curricula.

OpenSciEd is growing a community of certified professional learning providers. OpenSciEd-Certified organizations include partners who helped to develop the materials and professional learning as well as organizations newer to OpenSciEd who have demonstrated deep understanding of the professional learning goals and pedagogy. Certified organizations collaborate and learn from each other in an online community as they work together to meet the unique needs of teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, and district leaders to revolutionize classrooms with OpenSciEd’s materials.

Each provider in the PLPG provides a sample scope of work for each type of professional learning they are approved for. The scopes of work represent engagements with actual clients and are intended to give users a better understanding of how the provider engages with teachers and leaders in each type of professional learning.

How we address equity
Every aspect of Blue Engine’s coaching and instructional methods integrate equity as both a fundamental characteristic and a resulting achievement within our professional learning services. An equity and asset-based mindset forms the foundation of our work, which helps educators both identify and break down systemic barriers while creating inclusive educational spaces that support student success for all learners. We provide targeted coaching to teachers so they can create learner-centered instructional methods focused on the unique needs and strengths of historically marginalized students, such as students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and students of color. Our data-driven methodology allows us to identify student outcome disparities and drive strategic interventions that create instructional practices suitable for diverse student learning needs. Our coaching model focuses on building collaborative partnerships that foster belonging while increasing teacher agency and providing psychologically safe spaces for educators to reflect upon and improve their practice. Providing educators with the necessary tools and mindsets enables them to build equitable learning experiences that transform equity from an objective into a quantifiable result of our professional learning services.

Implicit racism plays a major role in perpetuating achievement gaps in classrooms across the country. Rivet is committed to dismantling racism by connecting educators with professional learning partners who confront implicit racism through culturally responsive services that support teachers in providing high quality instruction to all students every day.

How we build district capacity
Blue Engine partners with school districts over an extended period to implement our cohort-based training and development (direct for teachers or leaders), designed to integrate high-quality instructional materials (HQIM)-aligned practices to support educators to effectively leverage HQIM to meet the needs of diverse learners district-wide. Our approach leverages teacher leaders through intensive coaching and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure consistent adoption and spread of these practices across schools. We collaborate closely with district and school leaders through joint observations, vision-setting, and quarterly goal-setting to internalize and sustain these practices beyond our partnership. As a result, Blue Engine classrooms can effectively support diverse learners while maintaining the rigor of HQIM, ensuring long-term success and scalability within the district.
