HILL for Literacy’s professional development is rooted in the most current research findings which inform its evidence-based instructional practices. We support teachers in making direct connections between research and high-quality instructional curriculum components resulting in effective and equitable classroom practices. We partner with districts to develop multi-tiered systems of support to ensure the sustainability and fidelity of high-quality instructional curriculum implementation to meet the needs of all students.

How we address equity
We provide ongoing opportunities for educators to internalize lessons and analyze student work, enabling data-driven instructional decisions. Our goal is for all students to access rigorous reading and learning through strategic use of high-quality curriculum. Teachers build skills to analyze classroom data, plan effectively, and adapt lessons for equitable access. We support understanding of how strong curriculum implementation promotes equity and creates opportunities for culturally affirming instruction across classrooms and districts.

Sustainability is embedded across all LEA engagement to ensure long-term success and equitable literacy instruction. Ongoing implementation is supported through partnerships with publishers, enabling strategic, informed curriculum use. We build teacher expertise and confidence with fidelity with integrity. With leaders, we define a clear scope and sequence for professional learning and coaching. District leadership structures and coaching teams strengthen literacy leadership, promoting shared knowledge and distributed leadership for lasting impact.
