How we address equity
At McGraw Hill, we believe in unlocking the potential of every learner at every stage of life. To accomplish that, we are dedicated to creating professional learning opportunities that reflect, and are accessible to, all the diverse learners and communities we serve. We structure all professional learning opportunities to honor the unique experiences of teachers and districts, and to highlight how our curriculum are both culturally relevant and include embedded tools to ensure each child achieves success.
Why is this important?
How we build district capacity
McGraw Hill supports building capacity to support HQIM implementation through: * District Professional Learning Planning Meeting – work with stakeholders to align HQIM “Launch” Workshops with district goals and outcomes * HQIM “Launch” Workshops – deliver customized workshops to introduce teachers and support staff to the curriculum, including: * Review pedagogy and supporting research * Review curriculum pacing and planning * Walkthrough a unit/chapter/lesson with modeling of instructional features * Explore and rehearse routines * Identify key supports for differentiation/model suggested use * Identify and explore embedded progress monitoring tools * Navigate the digital platform for both teachers and students
Why is this important?
How we provide curriculum-aligned PL

Workshops

HQIM “Launch” Workshops are customized to the needs of districts after an Executive Planning Meeting with stakeholders. Workshops are offered virtually or in-person, and are typically organized by grade level (K – 2, 3 – 5, 6 – 8, 9 – 12) and/or role (teachers, coaches, administrators, support staff, etc.).
