How we address equity
College Board believes that all students deserve engaging, relevant, and challenging grade-level coursework. Access to this type of coursework increases opportunities for all students, including groups traditionally underrepresented in AP and college classrooms. SpringBoard is designed to engage all learners. Our professional learning creates an inclusive environment, valuing diversity of thought and experience. We work with educators to enact SpringBoard materials that communicate asset-based perspectives through its representation of people of diverse races, classes, genders, abilities and sexual orientations. Educators learn how SpringBoard helps students take actions that combat inequity and promote equity within their school or community.

How we build district capacity
SpringBoard Professional Learning is an ongoing, multiyear partnership aimed at building educator capacity and boosting student performance. It is organized into three tiers: Building the Foundation, Building Expertise, and Building Capacity. Building the Foundation gets teachers, coaches, and administrators ready with SpringBoard pedagogy and content that supports effective implementation. Building Expertise develops participants’ expertise in instructional approaches and assessment practices. Building Capacity supports district leaders to develop and facilitate their own site-based professional learning.
