WHO WE ARE
Sterling Literacy Consulting partners with districts to adopt and implement high-quality instructional materials through a systems-driven, science-of-reading-aligned approach. Our theory of action: If leaders and stakeholders establish a shared instructional vision and align curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and support structures, then teachers can implement high-quality instruction consistently, leading to improved student achievement. What distinguishes our work is the flexibility and customization of our support. We design services that reflect each partner's specific goals, capacity, and community context.

How we address equity
At Sterling Literacy Consulting, we believe literacy is the key to all learning. Equity begins with the conviction that every student deserves consistent access to high-quality instruction and materials. Our professional learning centers on implementing high-quality instructional materials with integrity so all students engage daily with complex texts, systematic foundational skills instruction, and knowledge-building content. Equity is not a slogan for us; it is measured by outcomes. Our ultimate barometer of success is whether students, across subgroups, demonstrate meaningful academic growth and improved achievement.

How we build district capacity
Sterling Literacy Consulting builds LEA capacity by pairing knowledge-building with systems design. Beyond HQIM training, we help districts implement the system-level shifts necessary for sustained success. This includes: strengthening instructional leadership routines, aligning coaching structures, refining MTSS frameworks, and embedding curriculum-aligned observation and feedback cycles. We work with leaders to establish these enabling conditions that support long-term fidelity. Our goal is not short-term implementation but durable systems that enable HQIM to thrive over the years.
