What are these scopes?
How we address equity
Our training and coaching are anchored in the belief that all students deserve instruction that helps them realize their potential and succeed in the world. We partner with leaders to analyze school and system instructional data to identify gaps and leverage research in our trainings to address inequities in engagement, expectations, and access to high quality materials that affect students of color, English Learners, students with disabilities, economically-disadvantaged students, and other populations. By building educators’ knowledge and pedagogical skills, we support adults to better serve all students.
Why is this important?
How we build district capacity
To sustain curriculum use over time, we provide training and coaching to school and systems leaders and work together to create clear implementation plans. Our training for leaders focuses on observation, feedback, and instructional planning to hone leaders’ ability to support teachers in curriculum use. We also work together to refine systems and structures including schedules, staffing, and planning tools and expectations that support HQIM use and guide schools’ long-term planning.
Why is this important?
How we provide curriculum-aligned PL

Workshops

We design custom training sequences typically 2 – 5 days in duration on a variety of content and curriculum-specific topics for new and experienced educators. Workshops are designed in partnership with leaders and they build educators’ skills in instruction and leadership and support them to use materials effectively.

Coaching

With leaders, we conduct classroom observations to identify trends in curriculum implementation. We then co-plan, rehearse and/or co-lead intellectual preparation meetings, observation and feedback conversations, or PLCs. We may also analyze and discuss instructional videos, study curriculum resources, model strategies, and engage leaders and teachers in reflection conversations.

PLCs

We co-facilitate or directly lead planning sessions to help teachers use their materials effectively. These sessions focus on protocols that lead teachers to engage in unit study, lesson study, and student work analysis using their materials.

Consultations

We set clear goals for curriculum implementation and instruction with teams of school or district leaders. We engage these teams in collaborative planning and classroom walkthroughs to identify trends, set goals, and support school teams to improve curriculum implementation and student learning.
