Robin McClellan, Director of Partnerships
Robin has served Tennessee students since she entered the field of education as an elementary teacher in 1996. In 2005, she became an elementary school principal followed by a transition to the district-level position of Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction in Sullivan County. During her six years as the elementary supervisor, Robin spearheaded the implementation of high quality curriculum across eleven elementary schools, which she considers to be the greatest learning of her career.
Robin then served as Assistant Commissioner of Academics and Instructional Strategy at the Tennessee Department of Education. She managed the state’s nationally recognized Early Reading Training program, which provided over 10,000 teachers and leaders with curriculum-based professional learning (CBPL) grounded in HQIM. Robin also led the Literacy Implementation Network, a collaborative of 48 districts that developed cohesive and coherent implementation strategies to support HQIM.
Most recently, she served as the Regional Director for Customer Success at Amplify, where she led a team that supported districts’ use of the company’s instructional materials.
Robin has contributed to numerous publications, including Education Week, The Tennessee Teacher Leader Guidebooks (2014-2018), The SCORE State of Education in Tennessee report (2014-2015), and The State Teacher Leadership Toolkit: Created By States, For States (2015).Â
Robin holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from The Pennsylvania State University, and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University.
